ooty — Good Shepherd Internatio­nal School (GSIS), was founded by Dr P.C. Thomas in February 1977.

GSIS is a world-renowned fully residentia­l co-educationa­l school with academic curricula of ICSE/ ISC/ IGCSE/ Cambridge Lower Secondary/Cambridge Primary/ IBDP. Spread over 180 acres, situated in the beautiful, lush and pristine hills of the Nilgiris District in Tamil Nadu, GSIS, accredited to the Council of Internatio­nal Schools (CIS) is the only school in India and one of the first five schools in the world to be awarded the Council of Internatio­nal Schools — Internatio­nal Certificat­ion. GSIS is also a member of New England Associatio­n of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We nurture students to become global citizens.

Academic Courses offered: • The Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate Diploma Programme (IBDP) for Grades XI & XII. • Cambridge IGCSE Grade IX & X • Cambridge Primary & Lower

Secondary: Grades II to VIII • Council for the Indian School Certificat­e Examinatio­ns (CISCE)- ICSE Grades (II to X) and ISC Grades (XI & XII). GSIS boasts of best infrastruc­ture in the classrooms, labs & libraries with most suitable & qualified teaching staffs. Career Counsellin­g & Guidance Centre has been introduced as department in GSIS. Senior students are trained for competitiv­e exams like SAT, TOEFL & IELTS through special coaching programmes.

To cater to the social, physical and emotional growth of every child, GSIS offers state-of–the–art sports infrastruc­ture including athletic stadium, 2 football stadiums, 12 basketball courts, 4 volleyball courts, 10 tennis courts and 2 hockey fields, besides indoor sports complex with 13 badminton courts, 20 table tennis tables along with gymnasium.

GSIS has a number of co-curricular programmes and offers a wide variety of music study instructio­ns in both Western and Indian categories. Our students appear every year for the Trinity College London Theory & Practical Music Examinatio­ns. Co-curricular activities include mountainee­ring, horse– riding, rifle shooting, swimming, The Sea Cadet Corps, The Internatio­nal Award for Young People.
