dubai — Jaguar Land Rover Limited Middle East and North Africa (JLR) will base its new regional headquarters at Dubai Silicon Oasis, where it will also have a training academy, an engineering testing centre and a customer relation centre.
Spanning over 14,000 sqm, the headquarter is scheduled for handover by the first quarter of 2020. The academy will offer training workshops and a training showroom for the sales force.
Dr Mohammed Alzarooni, vice-chairman and CEO of the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), and Bruce Robertson, managing director of JLR Middle East and North Africa, signed the agreement.
Starting from 2020, Jaguar Land Rover will introduce a portfolio of electrified products across its model range, embracing fully electric, plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles, as well as continue to offer ultra-clean petrol and diesel engines.
A wholly-owned entity of the Government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises as well as medium and small companies looking to establish regional headquarters and research and development centres.
Dr Alzarooni said the partnership with JLR aligns with the DSOA’s goal of supporting the research and development of new mobility technologies.
