Success factors for NGOs and non-profit groups
dubai — Crowe Horwath UAE, in association with the UAE Red Crescent Society, held a CSR seminar event recently for the benefit of all non-government organisations (NGOs) and non-profit organisations (NPOs).
The topic for the seminar was ‘Critical success factors for NGOs & NPOs’, and the speaker, Pesh Framjee, is a partner leading the International Not For Profit Group at Crowe Horwath International in the UK. Framjee writes and lectures internationally on matters facing NGOs and civil society.
The seminar started with a keynote address by Mohammad Abdullah Al Haj Al Zarouni, head of Emirates Red Crescent Dubai. He explained at length the work done by them in 2017 and 2018 in various parts of the world. Framjee explained good governance of NGOs and what are the necessary attributes for boards of the future. He stressed on the fact that organisations today have to adapt themselves with the changing times.
He discussed on the importance of ‘3 E’s’ — economy, efficiency and effectiveness — as well as how impact analysis is important in the context of organisations achievement of objectives. He dealt with issues like risk management, value protection and value creation for NGOs and NPOs.
Framjee touched upon change management and what results in a lasting change.
The seminar was attended by various NGOs and NPOs, as well as by dignitaries in the UAE.
