Law issued to allocate 2018 budget

abu dhabi — The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued a Federal Law on linking the general budget of the Federation and the budgets of the autonomous state institutio­ns for the fiscal year 2018.

According to the law, published in the Federal Official Gazette, both the expenditur­es and the revenues in the Federation’s general budget for the fiscal year 2018 have been estimated at Dh51.388 billion. This Law will be effective from 1st January 2018 until 31st December 2018. It will be implemente­d in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law Decree No. 08 of 2011 concerning the rules of the preparatio­n of the general budget and the final accounts of the federal entities. The announced estimated budget is as follows: > Federal National Council: Dh205.04 million > UAE University: Dh1.45b >Higher Colleges of Technology: Dh1.04 billion > Zayed University: Dh485.20m >General Sport Authority: Dh244.15 million > Federal Electricit­y and Water Authority: Dh5.74b General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments: Dh525.30 million > Zakat Fund: Dh30.179m >National Media Council: Dh159.97 million > Emirates Authority for Standardis­ation and Metrology: Dh68.50 million > Federal Customs Authority: Dh52.38 million > Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme: Dh1.60 billion >Federal Competitiv­eness and Statistics Authority: Dh79.40 million > Emirates Red Crescent: Dh299.61 million > State Audit Institutio­n: Dh140.44 million > Federal Authority for Government Human Resources: Dh82.10 million > Securities and Commoditie­s Authority: Dh186 million >National Qualificat­ions Authority: Dh40.16 million > Federal Transport Authority — Land and Maritime: Dh93.23 million > UAE Space Agency: Dh303.84 million > Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood: Dh15 million > The UAE Vice President’s Office for Political Affairs: Dh33.95 million > The UAE Minister of State Office: Dh31.20 million >Federal Demographi­c Council: Dh75.17 million >National Exhibition­s and Conference­s Committee: Dh12.80 million >Emirates Diplomatic Academy: Dh58 million >The UAE Minister of Tolerance Office: Dh15.20m The also mentioned estimated revenues budget for the Insurance Authority at Dh148 million with estimated expenses for financial year 2018 amounted to Dh119 million.

It said estimated revenues budget of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenshi­p for fiscal year 2018 at Dh1.27 billion while its estimated expenses will be Dh880 million.

The law further said estimated revenues budget of the Telecommun­ications Regulatory Authority for fiscal year 2018 will be Dh1.05 billion while estimated expenses amounted to Dh1.01 billion. — Wam
