- Ahmed Shaaban

ras al khaimah – The emirate of Ras Al Khaimah saw five separate fires in different places on Tuesday. The most recent of these was reported in a café in the old Ras Al Khaimah area, close to the fish market. The RAK Civil Defence firefighters, alerted of the blaze, rushed to the site in record time. “They managed to put out the fire before it spread to nearby places,” sources told Khaleej Times.

The café, however, was fully destroyed. “No casualties were reported in the fire, which has been referred to the bodies concerned for identifying the cause.”

They warned that dumping inflammable wastes and smoking at or close to such materials pose a grave risk and lead to such fires.

The four fires did not have any casualties but led to several financial losses, they noted. ahmedshaaban@khaleejtimes.com
