Riyadh book fair honours Zayed
riyadh — While visiting the Riyadh International Book Fair, Dr Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, participated in the seminar ‘2018: Year of Zayed’, about the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his visionary leadership and pioneering foreign policy.
The seminar, led by Saudi journalist Ibrahim Al Helali, reviewed the long-standing UAE-Saudi relations established by Sheikh Zayed, binding the two nations’ common interests and their solidarity during challenging times, highlighting their religious bond, brotherly ties and shared cultural heritage.
Dr Nusseibeh noted that Sheikh Zayed aspired to achieve peace, coexistence and cooperation between countries. Characterised for his tolerance and respect for all, he favoured peaceful dialogue and reconciliation to resolve disputes and aimed to unite people from all walks of life to achieve happiness, wellbeing and prosperity for humanity.
He hailed Sheikh Zayed as a symbol of Arab unity and a leading force in establishing strong foreign relations among all Gulf States, highlighting his pivotal role in working with Saudi Arabia to establish the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
On a regional level, he sought to help resolve differences and strengthen relations between countries through constructive interaction and solidarity. He was also determined to build strategic economic partnerships linked to global humanitarian principles, in line with philanthropic goals.
Dr Nusseibeh said: “It is wonderful to witness firsthand the strong relationship enjoyed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This exhibition represents an important cultural experience that reflects Saudi Arabia’s exemplary standing in the cultural and educational fields,” added Dr. Nusseibeh. —
