Waste removed from ship that sank in creek
dubai — An estimated 16.3million tonne of waste was removed from a commercial ship that sank in the Dubai Creek on Thursday, according to Dubai Municipality. The clearing of waste contributed to the uninterrupted navigational movement and preservation of the marine environment.
Talib Julfar, assistant directorgeneral of the Dubai Municipality for environment and public health services sector, said the ship loaded with goods had set out at dawn on Thursday to exit the Dubai Creek, but it collided with one of the wave breakers and sank at the entrance to the creek.
