Founder’s Memorial to open to public on April 22

abu dhabi — The monumental artwork to honour the life of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan will be open to the general public on April 22, authoritie­s announced on Tuesday.

Offering a range of personal encounters with the late Sheikh Zayed, the man and the leader, the Founder’s Memorial will enrich understand­ing of his life, legacy and values.

During the first in-depth and close look media tour on Tuesday evening since its inaugurati­on in February, authoritie­s said the Founder’s Memorial is a reflection of Sheikh Zayed’s life and legacy and will enable visitors to draw on his many values and qualities that continue to serve as a permanent source of inspiratio­n for the entire nation.

the values of the great father and leader.” He added that the monument is a new destinatio­n for tourists and visitors of Abu Dhabi. With rarely-seen footages, personal stories, artefacts and much more, the historical monument will offer a series of an intimate insight into the character of a visionary leader.

Ralph Helmick, the American artist and designer of the Founder’s Memorial said: “Sheikh Zayed was a great leader whose spirit is palpable throughout the UAE and world over. It was therefore vital that his legacy inspires the design in terms of both scope and endurance.”
