Wasit win three archery events in Schools Games
dubai — Events of the 6th Schools Olympic Games continued in Sharjah where 2,664 students competed in the events held by the NOC in coordination with the Ministry of Education. Competitions were held for boys in badminton and archery for girls.
Wasit Schools took the lead in the Girls Under-17 archery competitions claiming three medals through Maha Abdul Rahim (winner), Hessa Yaqoob (runner-up) and Fatima Al Baluchi (third place).
Jeni Hasan Hawash (Gems International) won the Gold for Under-15, Hind Al Baluchi (Al Manar School) won the Silver, and Ghareesa Al Mazami (Al Manar School) got the Bronze.
In the open category, Aliaa Ahmed Al Ahmed (Aysha bint Abu Baker School) won the Gold, Ghalya Al Baluchi (Al Yahr School) won the Silver, and Alyaa Al Baluchi from the same school got the Bronze.
Mohammad Kadhim (Dubai National School, Al Barsha) claimed the gold medal in the Under-11 category of boys’ badminton competition at the Al Andalus Sports Hall in Sharjah.
Saeed Abdullah Al-Ghalzouz (Dubai International, Al Quoz) won the silver medal and Omar Khalid Al Marzouki (Dubai International, Al Quoz) bronze, and Ahmed Kazem Mohammed from the same school in bronze III.
In a competition for Under-13, Abbas won the Kadhim of Dubai National Al Barsha gold, Hamid Said Al Mazroui from the school of Wadi Hilo won silver. Rashid Abdullah Balghazuz, from Dubai International (Al Quoz) got the bronze, and Mohammed Ali Mazroui (from Wadi El Helow) obtained bronze III, finishing third.
In a competition for Under 15, Saeed Omar Mohammed (Dubai National School, Al Barsha) won the Gold, Saoud Mohammed Al Mazrouei of Wadi Al Helow won Silver. Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah (from Dubai National Al Barsha) and Ali Abdullah Murad (from Dubai National Al Barsha) also won the third bronze medal.
In the 17-year competition, Othman Omar Mohammed (from Dubai National Al Barsha) won the gold medal, Abdullah Ali Al Mazroui (from Wadi Al Helou) won the Silver. Ahmad Ibrahim Saleh (from Dubai International School- Al Quoz) and Zayed Al Khalid Al Shamsi (from Dubai National School - Al Barsha) won the Bronze.
