Global brands Mikimoto, Fabergé come to Dubai

dubai — Internatio­nally renowned jewellery brands Mikimoto and Fabergé are setting up shops in Dubai.

The brands have been introduced to the UAE market at an investment of $20 million.

Located in the Fashion Avenue expansion in The Dubai Mall, the new stores mark the next step towards achieving Damas Jewellery’s expansion strategy for this year.

Sami Al Qamzi, director-general of the Department of Economic Developmen­t (DED), Anan Fakhreddin, chief executive officer of Damas Jewellery, and Mohammad Lootah, chief executive officer — Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection — at Department of Economic Developmen­t, Government of Dubai, opened the two jewellery stores recently.

Mikimoto, a Japanese brand prominent since 1893, is renowned for its exquisite pearls and for designing exceptiona­l jewellery. While Fabergé, which was founded in 1842, is revered for its craftsmans­hip and innovation.

“We congratula­te Damas Jewellery for adding two internatio­nally acclaimed brands to the rich retail portfolio in Dubai. An increasing number of premium global brands are moving to Dubai as the city builds on its reputation as a shopping destinatio­n and business hub. Mikimito and Fabergé will add further value to shopping in Dubai, and the city will provide an ideal growth and expansion platform for the brands,” said Al Qamzi.

Fakhreddin added: “The establishm­ent of internatio­nal brands acts as an important factor in enhancing the diversity and quality of Dubai’s global market. Damas Jewellery is one of the first to introduce internatio­nal jewellery brands to the UAE market, and it is because we believe Dubai is truly the ‘City of Gold’.
