Shuttlers Owais and Dev score easy wins

dubai — Owais Rafeek moved ahead at the 41st India Club UAE Open Badminton Tournament after defeating Adam Jeslin 21-16, 21-18 in the under-9 boys singles category on Sunday night.

In the under-13 boys singles, Dev Ayappan trounced Rishabh K. 21-11, 21-8. Bharath Latheesh beat Dhanwanth Rahavan 21-5, 21-4 in his first match and in his second match he downed Jash Kumar 21-8, 21-6 to move ahead in the group.

Revathy Latheesh overcame the challenge of Nidhi Desai to register a 14-21, 22-20, 2220 victory in the under-17 girls category.
