islamabad — Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday directed the secretary finance to confirm within three days that outstanding salaries had been paid to all government employees.

The CJ reiterated that he would not take his salary until it was confirmed that all the government employees had got their salaries.

A three-member bench headed by the CJ, and comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, heard the case regarding non-payment of salaries to the government employees.

At the last hearing of the case, the CJ had observed that he would not take his salary util the secretary finance and the controller general of accounts submitted certificates that outstanding salaries had been given to the employees.

The controller general of accounts submitted the certificate with the court but the same was awaited from the secretary finance.

During the course of the proceedings, the court summoned the secretary finance, who then submitted a certificate that 656,000 government employees had been disbursed salaries.
