Emirates among top 5 most visible brands

- Waheed Abbas

dubai — Emirates airline has improved its presence on social media, jumping 1 place to number 4 in the list of the most visible brands.

An update by social media monitoring firm Brandwatch shows that users posted more than 2.84 million unique images of the airline per month on Twitter and Instagram. Users posted 6.66 million photos of top-rated Adidas brand on social media followed by 5.13 million of Nike, 3.88 million of Google, 2.84 million of Emirates and 2.71 million of Puma.

The Dubai carrier was the only brand from the Gulf region that was ranked in the 100 most visible brands of the world.

Most pictures of the brands were taken by men. Around 79 per cent of Emirates pictures were shot by men and 21 per cent by women.

Interestingly, Emirates was also the eighth most popular brand logo in South America.

“‘Use a picture. It’s worth a thousand words.’ This couldn’t be more apt today. On social media, we live in a world of images rather than words, being able to analyse photos as a brand is critical today. But this isn’t just for B2C brands. The report clearly sees this impacts B2B, influencer marketing, as well as avoids PR disasters such as brand misuse, fraud detection and discovering harmful brand associations,” says Tim Hughes, co-founder and CEO, Digital Leadership Associates.
