When the world first Met Musk, Grimes together
DUBAI — Billionaire Elon Musk and his new singer-girlfriend Grimes made their red carpet debut at Met Gala, where his ex, actress Amber Heard, was also in attendance, media reported.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who recently split from Heard, put his arm around the Canadian singer as they posed for pictures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Mirror reported on Tuesday.
The pair announced their relationship on the red carpet on
Monday night. Musk wore a white suit and Grimes wore a necklace that looked a lot like the Tesla logo. According to the New York Posts’s Page Six, Musk first got in touch with 30-year-old Visions star Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, around a month ago.
They bonded over a joke that the SpaceX founder wanted to tweet but realised the singer had already made years earlier.
“Elon was researching the idea of joking about Rococo Basilisk, and when he saw Grimes had already joked about it, he reached out to her,” a source told Page Six.
“Grimes said this was the first time in three years that anyone understood the joke. They were both poking fun at AI.”
Grimes is a singer-songwriter from Vancouver. Her mother Sandy Garossino is a former Crown prosecutor and used to own three Metro Vancouver taxi companies. She began writing music and posting it on MySpace in 2007.
