Sapandeep and Jeevan hit tons for Multiplex

sharjah — Two centuries was the highlight of Multiplex Internatio­nal’s massive 149-run victory over ANIB XI on Top in the 44th Bukhatir Premier League 2018 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

In a match that saw over 700 runs being scored Multiplex put in to bat first saw the first wicket fall after a slow start. Balwender Singh took 26 deliveries to score 20.

But then on what struck the ANIB XI on Top bowlers was beyond their imaginatio­n. Jeevan Gangadhara­n and Sapandeep Singh came together as both secured impressive centuries during their huge 285-run partnershi­p for the second wicket.

Sapandeep was the aggressive among the duo as he dealt mostly in sixes and boundaries. His 92-ball stay in the middle was studded with seven boundaries and a superb 18 sixes to achieve 184.

Jeevan Gangadhara­n was a tad slow facing 94 balls to score 107 including seven fours and five sixes.

Abdul Shakoor hit a quick 30-ball 42 while Haroon Ahmed chipped in with a 11ball 25 to ensure Multiplex Internatio­nal amassed 435 for eight in 50 overs.

Despite the hammering, ANIB XI on Top had a bowler managed to contain the scoring to a certain extent. Mahesh P Shetty claimed six wickets in his eight overs giving away 50 runs.

In reply, ANIB XI on Top showed equal aggression but with the increasing required run rate the pressure got on to the team as they were all out for 286 in 41.1 overs.

Hari Prasanth top scored with 65 from 48 balls supported by six boundaries and three fours while Basil Hameed hit 52 off 83 balls.

Muhammed Imran (34) and Vijesh Babu (35) were the other scorers.

For Multiplex Internatio­nal, Ahmad Naseem claimed three wickets while Aftab Azwar and Balwender Singh took two each. > Brief scores: > Multiplex Internatio­nal bt ANIB XI on Top by 149 runs.
