dubai – Hard work, everyday study, and concentrating in the classroom are the keys to top marks in the board exams, according to these stream toppers.

Avelyn Kishore, the UAE CBSE science stream topper, kept her expectations low and worked hard. “I owe everything to my teachers Moeen Khanum, Ruby Aleyamma, Suma Koshy, Beena, and Rema Devi; my parents, and my sister.”

About her study routine, Avelyn said: “I used to balance my study time and relaxation time well. I focused on concentrating in the classroom and solved several applications-based questions ahead of the exam.” She studied five to six hours a day, but also took part in extracurricular activities and played musical instruments in her spare time.

Raina Lalit Shah, the commerce stream topper, from Indian High School said: “I feel really great, like I’m on cloud 9. I’ve never gone for tuitions or coaching; my study has always been independent work.”

The humanities topper, Chaarulatha Ramesh Kumar from Indian High School, said: “I believe that it is important to concentrate on what you’re studying. I didn’t stay up late, got enough sleep and managed my studies. You have to pay attention to what is being said in the classroom.”

Nabiha Siddiqui, the other humanities topper from Delhi Private School, Dubai said: “I began studying early in the summer vacations and tried not to procrastinate at all. I stayed away from social media. Hard work is what gets you good marks.”
