Caretakers should be asked about power cuts, says Sharif
islamabad — Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that the caretaker government should be questioned about the scarcity of power as Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN) government had left sufficient power while leaving the office on completion of five-year tenure.
In an informal chat with the media he said, there was no loadshedding during the tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and “we are only responsible for our tenure.”
He said former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharfi had inaugurated several power generation projects even during the last week of their governments.
The PML-N constructed hospitals, colleges, universities during its five-year tenure, whereas opposition parties did nothing during their respective tenures in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.
He said no government had ever tried to construct Motorway and people should evaluate who had curbed the menace of loadshedding and who plunged the country into darkness. There should be no delay in completion of Multan-Sukkur Motorway.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf of Imran Khan did nothing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during its five-year rule.
He said the journey to Chitral has been reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours as a result of completion of Lowari Tunnel by the PML-N government. He said completion of NeelumJhelum, Tarbela extension and Kachhi Kenal projects are historic. — APP
