PTI to review poll tickets to some candidates

-

islamabad — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said on Monday that the party would review controversial party tickets to candidates from some constituencies.

Addressing a press conference here, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that though the party had issued tickets to candidates on merit, there were some constituencies where workers had reservations and had been protesting against the issuance of tickets to some of the candidates. The party would complete the review within a couple of days, he said.

Chaudhry said that the PTI would field its own candidates across the country, rejecting any seat adjustment and alliance with any party in 2018 general elections.

He urged the caretaker government to ensure transparency in upcoming elections.

Chaudhry alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to degrade PTI Chairman Imran Khan, arguing that when the conspirators’ plan failed to achieve anything by using Imran’s former wife Reham Khan, they resorted to other tactics by bringing into former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar chaurdhry.

He said several cases were sent to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Iftikhar Chaurhry and his son. However the accountability court had still not started hearing these cases.

He urged the NAB to start proceedings in these cases on priority basis as had been done in Asghar Khan case.
