Indian Association Ajman opens new complex in Al Jurf
ajman — The Indian Association in Ajman launched its new premises, ‘H.H. Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Auditorium and Sports Complex’ at Al Jurf, on Sunday.
The new complex, worth Dh7 million is spread across 20,000sqft of land, was gifted to the Indian community by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.
The facility was inaugurated by Sheikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuami, head of Diwan Al Amiri court and senior diplomats from the Indian mission. Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian ambassador to the UAE, Sumathi
Vasudev, acting consul-general of the Indian Consulate General in Dubai, were also present at the opening ceremony.
Association officials said that Abdul Rahman Saleem Al Suwaidi would be the UAE patron of the
new premises in Ajman. Al Suwaidi said: “This facility is more than just an association for Indians in Ajman. This building is for all people of Ajman.”
“This is a proud day for the Indian community in Ajman. This facility will do so much to enhance the quality of life of the community in Ajman,” said Suri. The auditorium at the entre has a seating capacity of 2,500 people and several modern amenities including a boardroom and sports facilities. A health club and fully-serviced restaurant are also in the works. The association charges a lifetime membership fee of Dh2,000.
