Illegal pop-up markets busted in Sharjah
sharjah — The Sharjah Municipality has busted several illegal markets, where mobile vendors sold duplicate products and expired food. The products, which were being offered at low prices to attract customers, were seized and donated to charities. Some products had to be destroyed as they were deemed harmful to public health, officials said on Sunday.
Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, assistant director of customer service, Sharjah Municipality, said the civic body has readied 40 teams as part of a campaign targeting illegal markets in different parts of the emirate, “especially around labour accommodations and industrial areas”.
