Students feel safe online with parental guidance
Parents can decide whether they want to act as a remote control to their child’s phone and tablets with Apple’s new inbuilt feature, called Screen Time. However, are youngsters happy with giving control over to their parents?
Neha Sunil, a student at the Delhi Private School in Sharjah, said parents monitoring their child’s phone has become “a very rational outcome” in today’s era of rapid technological development.
She said she supports this idea as it may also help children be safe from cyberbullying.
“Parents using applications to keep track of mobile phones and online activities on their children’s phones is a very rational outcome in today’s world, where children spend so much time in the digital and virtual realm for entertainment, communication and information.

It will prevent children from falling into the trap of hackers or other violent and self-harming games such as Blue Whale,” Rajesh said.
Tulika Rawat, a student at the GEMS Gems New Millennium School, said: “With the increasing growth of different types of technology, more and more children have started to accept technology as a part of their life now. You know how food, air, some house, and clothes are our basic needs? Now, it seems that technology too has become one. Because of this problem, many parents are fed up with their children. If not allowed screen time, some children even refuse to eat. Set a proper time. Kids keep extending screen time with this world famous, classic dialogue: ‘Five more minutes’.
