Registration for female artist awards begin today
sharjah — Female artists and photographers in the UAE can register for the second edition of Noon Arts Award from today, according to the organisers. The Collage Talent Centre at the Sharjah Ladies Club called on artists to prime their canvases and prepare for the award, which this year commemorates the Year of Zayed under the slogan ‘My World of Emotions’.
The award is an opportunity for creative talents aged between 18 and 40 to express their interpretations of the power of internal experiences, involving mental, physiological, physical and feelings.
Shaikha Al Suwaidi, Collage Talent Centre manager, said: “Building upon the enormous popularity and success of last year’s Noon Arts Award, we are confident that both the quantity and quality of the submissions will be equally as high. The outstanding artistic ability from all members of the community was exceptional. This year’s
concept of expressing emotions and conveying principles shown by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is also a highly inspirational theme.
“The award encourages women to explore their talent as a way of self- expression and independence,” she added.
The winners of the painting and photography Noon Artist Awards for 25-40 age category will receive Dh10,000 and the Noon Rising Star Awards for 18-24 category will be presented with Dh5,000. The winning artwork and photography, selected by an independent jury, will be displayed from November 20-24 at the Kunooz Events and Catering.
