abu dhabi — The 16th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex) will be held from September 25 to 29 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, this year’s exhibition with the Year of Zayed as the main theme, will focus on Sheikh Zayed’s interests including the protection of the environment, falconry, sustainable hunting and equestrian.

Majid Ali Al Mansouri, chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of Adihex and Secretary-General of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, said: “The 16th edition of Adihex has been dedicated to celebrating the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The exhibition will highlight the most important initiatives and projects laid down by the former UAE leader in areas of falconry, equestrian, conservation of the environment and sustainable hunting.”

Adihex 2018 is organised by the Emirates Falconers’ Club and will be sponsored by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, Wahat Al Zaweya, the Dhabian Equestrian Club, Smart Design LLC and Tiger Properties.

The exhibition is supported by the Environment Agency — Abu Dhabi (EAD), the International Fund for Houbara Conservation (IFHC), the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) and the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee, in addition to many local, regional and international media partners.

Adihex, the region’s largest exhibition for hunting, equestrian and heritage preservation, attracts a large and diverse number of exhibitors. This year, it will have several new exhibitors from the UAE and all around the world, expanding the size of the exhibition where they expect a high number of visitors.

The 16th edition also has attractions that appeal to the large number of trade and consumer visitors such as the promotion and preservation of environmental and cultural heritage, hunting equipment, tourism, safaris, weapons, falconry, equestrian, sports fishing, marine sports, outdoor leisure and vehicle equipment, in addition to arts, crafts and entertainment for children.

Last year’s exhibition was a great success and had attracted more than 100,000 visitors from more than 120 nationalities.

Al Mansouri said: “We have worked hard towards expanding and developing the vision of Adihex for 2018, including re-designing its look and giving it a fresh experience. We have re-designed Adihex’s floor plan in an innovative way whereby visitors can view all the sections and activities. It will be an interactive and educational journey that inspires visitors to get more cultural awareness through a moving experience.

“Visitors will now find it much easier to move from one section to the other and enjoy all the initiatives and activities.” —
