Actor Hamza Abbasi ecstatic on Imran win
dubai — Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi is hoping for a new Pakistan post-Imran Khan winning the election.
He staunchly supported Imran and actively campaigned for Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf (PTI) before the elections.
When he visited Khaleej Times’ office on Sunday along with the cast and the crew of Parwaaz Hai
Junoon, he spoke about the feeling of joy post-Imran’s election win.
“Pakistan is at a crossroads. It has achieved one of the biggest milestones in the history which is — we broke that status of the political dynasty. Imran is the only leader who has struggled for 24 years. He has no political dynasty behind him and no military dictator has introduced him to politics. He is here because of his hard work and struggle. We all know that the man is not financially corrupt. For the first time, we have a man like him up there and the entire country is jubilant. The atmosphere is extremely positive. Pakistanis across
the world are really excited.”
Abbasi, who plays an air force officer in his upcoming release, said that is not like other military movies that are generally propaganda movies,
“This movie is not against any country because generally military films are propaganda films which present one side as absolutely righteous and the other side as the absolute devil. We feel that the world has not recognised us properly. We want other countries to understand that we are not the perpetrators of terror.”
