Take Note(9): Did Samsung leak image by mistake?

Whether Samsung did this in error or not, we now have a ‘super’ idea on how its next flagship will look like.
The South Korean tech bellwether itself may have accidentally leaked an image of the actual Galaxy Note9, which is set to be unveiled in New York on August 9.
The image was first spotted by the ever-vigilant leakster Evan Blas on Samsung’s website, which was quickly removed. Mashable was able to obtain a cached copy of it, and the full text was composed of the following: “Samsung Galaxy Note9” “Say hello to super power.” “Hi”
“We’ve unpacked our most powerful phone yet. Now you can be one of the first to experience it.”
A pre-order button was also on the image. And judging from that last line, looks like this apparent promotion material was meant to be rolled out after the Note9’s unveiling at the Unpacked event on Thursday in New York.
Khaleej Times, visiting the link Mashable provided leading to the image, ended up with a ‘not found’ message on Samsung’s website.
But that’s not the only one, apparently: some time after Blas’ discovery, an even bigger leak surfaced — and had more details confirming earlier speculation. A video, first noticed by SamMobile was also apparently rolled out. As at Press time, it’s playable on their website, while on YouTube, the top hit is a lower-resolution copy of the video — which also has a ‘pre-order now’ button — uploaded by Slashleaks.
Like with any other major device launch, numerous leaks filled the Internet in the lead-up to the follow up to last year’s successful Note8. What’s apparently clear now is, according to the video, is that the Note9 will be the first device to have 1TB of flash storage — though this will be a combination of 512GB of internal memory and a 512GB microSD card.
Other important features on the Note9 are a 6.4-inch QHD+ sAmoled display, dual 12MP main cameras, an 8MP front camera and an S Pen that can act as a remote control.
Samsung on Sunday also released an invitation to the UAE launch of the Galaxy Note9 on August 15 in Dubai.
Techradar reported that the premium device will be available from August 24. As with previous launches, it is expected that the UAE will be one of the first countries to have it.
