DUBAI — A man has been charged at the Dubai Court of First Instance for allegedly luring a woman into his villa and then raping her after beating her up.

According to public prosecution records, the 24-year-old Emirati man locked the Egyptian woman, 23, inside a bedroom in his villa in International City, where he raped her. He also filmed the incident. He was charged with rape, sexual assault and use of technology to invade into others’ privacy.

The incident allegedly took place on June 4.

The complainant, a student, said that when she entered his place, the accused carried her on his shoulder to the upper floor. “He had told me earlier on the phone that he wanted to tell me something. When in the bedroom, he frankly told me he had nothing to talk to me and wanted to have sex with me. But since I did not want it, he said he would do it by force.”

She recounted how he hit her on the head causing her to pass out twice. She woke up to find herself naked on the bed. “He kicked me on the back and legs and pulled my hair. He left me with a black eye after he banged my head against the floor.”

A police lieutenant, who interviewed the complainant, said: “She told us she would very often go to the defendant’s villa where he would throw parties. She said that on the incident day, he lured her there on the pretext that he would reconcile between her and his friend. She confessed that she had consensual sex with the latter.”

The accused took her to the upper floor, where he raped her after locking the door and throwing the key away. The defendant, who was caught under the influence of drugs, claimed during investigation that he had consensual sex with the woman and that he had to beat her up after he discovered she took an envelope in which he kept Dh50,000.

The forensic report confirmed the defendant had sex with the complainant. The woman, the defendant and his friend were referred to the Court of Misdemeanors on various charges, including sex out of marriage.

Minor bites and bruises were detected on the defendant’s finger and arm, consistent to the testimony of the complainant. Bruises and scratches were also found on the woman’s body.
