Civic body receives 1,111 emergency calls in H1

abu dhabi — A total of 1,111 cases were received by the emergency, crisis and disasters office at the Abu Dhabi City Municipali­ty (ADCM) since the beginning of 2018 until the end of June. The office receives reports from the community members and the institutio­ns through round-theclock hotlines.

During the first half of this year, the municipali­ty dealt with 9,283 phone calls, received 150 regular reports, 810 moderately important reports, 124 urgent reports that required rapid reaction, and 27 extremely important reports.

The municipali­ty also received 99 reports about road emergencie­s, 300 reports about maintenanc­e and lighting repairing, and 391 reports about gardening, agricultur­e and irrigation. It handled 129 reports relating to rainwater drainage networks, 126 reports about the city appearance and 66 other reports.

The emergency, crisis and disasters office called upon all community members and institutio­ns to contribute to reducing the impacts of the negative practices through calling the emergency number and reporting any unusual observatio­ns. It also urged them to support the municipali­ty’s efforts by demonstrat­ing the spirit of social responsibi­lity to create a safe and civilised living and housing environmen­t for the entire population.
