Welcome back kids, make your school your nation

The over 1.6 million students who are expected to be back in school from today have received encouragem­ent from the UAE leaders to step into their classrooms so that they can “build the nation”.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter on Saturday, telling students that “school gives you science so you can give us glory”.

“From your classes, our dreams and yours begin. You draw the future of your country in your books. With you, the country rises! Make your school your nation,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, urged students to “strengthen morals and ethics in your souls”.

“Attain your academic excellence with hard work and perseveran­ce, for excellence is our demand and goal on the path to success.”

School life builds you, so you can build the nation. This is the encouragem­ent His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, gave students who are expected to be back in school from today.

Some 1.1 million students will be back to school today at 616 public schools across the nation.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday ahead of the new academic term, Sheikh Mohammed told the students that schools give them science so “you can give us glory”.

“Tomorrow (Sunday) starts the school year, and we will continue the journey of education for more than a million students in our country. From your classes, our dreams and yours begin. You draw the future of your country in your books. With you, the country rises! Make your school your nation. May God protect and guide you,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, also took to Twitter to give some valuable to advice to the students.

“My dear students, capture the knowledge of science, good morals and commit yourself to high ethics and strengthen them in your hearts. Attain your academic excellence with hard work and perseveran­ce, for excellence is our demand and goal on the path to success,” he tweeted. “Looking forward to the educationa­l process that promotes learning, thinking and creativity. Let us continue to contribute to society to help encourage students towards achieving their dreams and aspiration­s.”

Meanwhile, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Developmen­t Foundation (FDF), called on male and female teachers across the country to maximise their efforts in taking care of the students.

She also urged students to work hard, be diligent and serious so as to deliver “resounding success and excel in their academic pursuits”. “Nations make progress by the rapid progress achieved in education, knowledge and scientific research as these constitute the building blocks for the present and future.

“High-quality education and provision of world-class, advanced learning methods and tools are among the top priorities of the country’s leadership while seeking to deliver strategic goals of the UAE Vision 2021,” she added.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, congratula­ted students on the start of the new academic year 2018-2019 and wished them an “exciting learning journey”.

“I wish all students a fresh learning journey full of passion for knowledge and discovery. We are confident that families and educators will join forces to deliver a successful academic year and make it an exciting, interestin­g learning experience for students,” Sheikh Hazza said.
