The F List

- DAVID LIGHT david@khaleejtimes.com

We’re here to put that Friday feeling in your days off with our F List giving you a ‘F for Friday’-themed round up of things to do this fine weekend. Have fun, you hear!

FASHION

We’ve gone for something a bit different this week, as online fashion retailer Namshi decided to celebrate their executive female workforce, which we thought was a brilliant initiative. With over 20 different nationalities speaking more than 30 different languages and making up 56.5% of the staff (53.8% in senior management roles), Namshi celebrates all the inspiring women at the company. Liis Pagil is a Senior Buyer for Sports and Streetwear. “First – Never lower your standards, others just need to keep up with them; and second – no matter what your position is, never say no to a task when it needs to be done for the success of your team,” she said. Check out the items she thinks you’ll like on the site.

FRONTIERS

Something close to home for the second day of your long weekend, because if you haven’t skipped off anywhere abroad by now, it may be a tad difficult to get back before work on Sunday. Never mind, though. Why not hire a car with travel experts Skyscanner.ae at very competitive rates and have a day trip to Ajman? Spend some time viewing wildlife at the Al Zorah Nature Reserve. One of the most popular things to do in Ajman, you can see pink flamingos and mangroves before enjoying a hearty Turkish dinner at the nearby Sultan Saray restaurant.

FOOD

Lebanese café concept, Bebabel has now opened at The Dubai Mall. Originating from the grandiose heart of the award-winning Lebanese brand Babel, Bebabel is the casual chic café version that offers a delicious Lebanese breakfast menu and an all-day dining inspired by Lebanese culture. The café serves mezzes, talatas, salads, grill items and a variety of mouthwatering desserts in the typical Levant fashion.

FITNESS

Need to stretch things out this morning? Media One is now the home of Mysore Dubai, a vibrant and dedicated community of Ashtanga Yoga practitioners in the city. Those of all levels of experience can come together to share this traditional yoga practice by engaging in movement, sharp internal focus, building heat and flowing to the tune of the breath. On Friday mornings, a class for all students will be on from 9am to 10.30am, which is often followed by community get-togethers at the pool or leisurely breakfasts before taking the weekend to rest and doing it all again the following Sunday.

FUN

Every night is now party night down at Intersect by Lexus, DIFC. Three hours of unlimited canapés and house drinks for Dhs200 is pretty good. Called the Bloc Party, the stylish urban hangout is offering bites, including grilled octopus with potato and Romesco sauce, Intersect’s signature gyoza and Indonesian chicken Satay with red cabbage salad dressed in peanut sauce to go along with solid sounds from 7pm to 10pm.
