- KT Report

dubai — On a day when thousands of fans braved the weather conditions to witness the most sizzling rivalry cricket can offer, a certain Sharad Pawar was enjoying the show from the Royal Box at the magnificent Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pawar, a high-profile Indian politician who served as the president of International Cricket Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, was bowled over by Dubai’s iconic Ring of Fire.

“This stadium in Dubai is one of the best cricket stadiums I have seen,” Pawar said during a video interview with Khaleej

Times on Wednesday.

It was indeed a huge compliment from a man who had attended matches in some of the best stadiums in the world during his time as ICC chief.

“I worked as the president of International Cricket Council. And that’s why being a former ICC president I have seen most of the cricket stadiums in the world. And this is definitely among the best stadiums in the world,” the 77-year-old Pawar said.

Pawar said every India-Pakistan game is unforgettable when asked about his favourite match between the two old rivals.

“Of course, it’s great to watch an India-Pakistan match in Dubai. I am really enjoying the match and the whole atmosphere,” he said.

“And all India-Pakistan matches are memorable. Every match between these the two countries can be a decisive match.”
