10 new patrols deployed to make Ajman safer 24x7

ajman — The Ajman Police have added 10 new patrols in various parts of the emirate, including industrial, commercial and residentia­l areas, to prevent crimes and ensure safety. These patrols will be deployed 24x7. The new patrols will play a huge role in boosting the security of the residents, said Capt Issa Mohammed Al Shamsi, head of the Department of Ambulance and Rescue at the Ajman Police.

In many cases, the patrols have nabbed suspects trying to break into commercial complexes, shops and warehouses or stealing from parked vehicles. They also arrested more than 2,000 wanted people from across the emirate.

Lt Al Nauman, a top police official, said the Aman Patrols was launched in October 2007 with 20 patrols and 60 officers. The number of patrols has increased to 30 and there are currently 80 patrol officers to prevent crimes and negative phenomenon in various parts of the emirate. He said the patrols have been deployed with advanced equipment and the staff are trained to combat various type of crimes in the emirate.
