The donation comes as part of the foundation’s initiatives for the Year of Zayed and is in line with its commitment towards building a cohesive community.
Ali Al Mutawa, secretary-general of Amaf, said: “It is the moral obligation of every individual and institution to help shape an integrated and enabled community in the UAE. This is possible only through unifying humanitarian and charitable efforts that empower people in need of support and ensure their inclusion within the community. Eventually, this will contribute to the overall happiness of individuals and the community as a whole.”
Al Mutawa explained how the culture of giving is ingrained in the value systems of the UAE and is embodied by the country’s wise leadership in its various initiatives and government programmes.
Saeed Al Tayer, CEO of social planning and development sector at the CDA, and the head of Social Solidarity Fund, thanked Amaf for its generous contribution. “Such gestures support the objectives of the Social Solidarity Fund in achieving a decent living for the needy.
