SERVICES LAUNCHED ON INTERNATIO­NAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS

AMBULANCE >

Community Developmen­t Authority collaborat­ed with Dubai Corporatio­n for Ambulance services to launch an ambulance specifical­ly equipped for senior citizens in Dubai. The three ambulance cars launched are equipped with the appropriat­e tools and space to transport the elderly from different areas in Dubai. The ambulance will benefit all the elderly registered in the CDA’s Thukher card.

AL BARAKA >

The Ministry of Community Developmen­t launched a volunteeri­ng platform initiative ‘Al Baraka’ to intensify experience­s of active elderly people.

DAY CARE CLUB >

The ministry also launched the second day care club and mobile homecare unit to take care and support elderly people in Um Al Quwain. The first club was in Ajman.

CARETAKER FOR ELDERLY>

Another initiative was ‘Jalees Al Musin (caretaker of the elderly people) to allow young people to register to take care of elders in UAE. The ministry maintains a database and communicat­es actively with 25,000 people in the UAE, while giving them financial and community support through home care programmes and elderly care centers.

MASSARA CARD >

Issued by the ministry for UAE senior citizens, Masarra Card offers Emiratis over 60 a variety of healthcare and social services, and exclusive privileges in collaborat­ion with public and private entities
