dubai — A free ‘legal clinic’ will be held next week by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai and BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem and Associates LLP.
The free walk-in clinic will take place at three separate locations on October 15 from 9am to 3pm.
Expert lawyers will offer oneto-one consultations on legal matters covering a wide range of areas including real estate, construction, employment, compensation claims, criminal matters, debt recovery, tenancy disputes, inheritance and family queries.
Khaled Hassan Mubasheri, chief executive officer, governance and legislation sector, DED, said: “We are delighted to be supporting BSA’s worthy initiative by hosting the clinics at three of our key locations in Dubai. We recognise the importance of sound legal advice for those in need and feel that the community at large will benefit greatly from such a resource.”
Dr Ahmad Bin Hezeem, senior partner at BSA, said: “We are well aware that not everybody has the financial means to consult a lawyer, nor do they have the knowledge on how to address these issues.
“Access to high-quality legal aid can prove costly and is often an impossibility for the average Dubai resident. After two decades operating in the region, the legal clinic is our way to give back to the community, by offering help and support in what we do best.”
Returning for a second year, the BSA held its first free legal clinic in 2017, and chose to expand the locations due the volume of demand they experienced during the inaugural year.
The locations
The three locations are DED head office in Deira , Al Twar Centre, Deira in Dubai Municipality’s building and Tas’heel in Oud Maitha.
With 25 lawyers ready to provide free legal information and advice to all those who attend on the day, BSA is encouraging visitors to arrive early with all relevant paperwork at hand. The clinic is informal, with no need to book an appointment, however the service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
