abu dhabi — Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Dhafra Region and head of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, received Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his accompanying delegation at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The Kerala chief minister, who arrived in the Capital on Wednesday, is on a three-day visit to push a redevelopment agenda of the flood-hit south Indian state.

Welcoming the Kerala leader, Sheikh Hamdan said that the UAE is committed to be always a leader in the humanitarian work field and give a hand to the needy, particularly in emergency. He added that the ERC is all set to provide all kinds of support and assistance to the state of Kerala and its people.

“The UAE leaders and people have followed the humanitarian catastrophe that the state of Kerala was exposed to due to the flash floods and torrential rain with great concern, and reacted at both government and people’s level,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

This is in line with the humanitarian vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to give a helping hand to those in need whenever and wherever they are, he added.

Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan offered his thanks and appreciation to the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed
