Pakistan Travel Mart a big draw

karachi — More than 300 national and internatio­nal brands of travel, airlines, hotels and tourism industry displayed their travel and tourism products at the second Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM) that ended here recently.

The three-day business-to-business exhibition was attended by visitors and exhibitors from more than 18 countries.

The Ajman Tourism Board was among the other internatio­nal tourism promotion bodies that took part in the event.

Pakistan Travel Mart aims to stimulate both domestic and internatio­nal tourism markets in order to attract more visitors. Delegation­s and exhibitors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Thailand, Malaysia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Azerbaijan and others, also took part in the mega travel and tourism expo.

Tourism ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Sindh and Balochista­n visited the exhibition.

The highlights of the event were the conference­s where several topics relating to the Pakistani travel industry were discussed, the keynote session being the one on hospitalit­y which was attended by Mohammed Arshad, Director of Finance, Nassima Royal Hotel, one of the leading hotels in the UAE. The session was moderated by Iftikhar Hamdani, Cluster General Manager of Ramada Ajman and official Ambassador of Wyndham Worldwide. The latter also spoke on developing sustainabl­e tourism practices in Pakistan for the industry to flourish with the least impact on the environmen­t.

The next annual session of Pakistan Travel Mart will be held from October 18 to 20, 2019 at Expo Centre Karachi.
