Protect wildlife

What justifies killing of an animal, especially an endangered one? Why is it that self-defence is often invoked as a reason, like in the case of a five-year-old, man-eating tigress who was put to death in India on Saturday? Our insatiable hunger for more land from forests has forced wild animals to run for cover elsewhere. But there’s no safe place for many who have not been rehabilitated in natural reserves. We have already lost half of our wildlife in the last 40 years. More will be lost if we do not commit to protect them.
