Fakhr first Pakistani to circle the globe solo
islamabad — Fakhr-e-Alam has become the first Pakistani to circumnavigate the globe solo after the successful completion of his ‘Mission Parwaaz’.
The singer-cum-activist shared the news on twitter in the wee hours of Sunday as he touched downed in Florida to become the first Pakistani to circumnavigate the globe as part of his ‘Mission Parwaaz’, a private news channel revealed.
The 42-year-old singer said, “Pakistan, Mission Parwaaz, Mission Accomplished we are now in the history books of aviation.”
The activist also posted a video message after landing in Clearwater, Florida, saying, “Pakistan, news from Florida, Mission Parwaaz, mission accomplished. So it’s done, guys. Thousands of nautical miles, hundreds of hours, 22 countries, 24 days one big dream for one big nation. Pakistan congratulations, we are now in the history books of aviation.” In another post, Alam wrote, “The flag is up, it’s done, Pakistan congrats, we have our first successful circumnavigation of the globe in any mode of transportation.”
The singer embarked on his journey on October 11, beginning his tour from Clearwater, Florida, and travelled to 22 countries.
The star faced a major setback during the final leg of his journey when he was detained at the Russian airport for travelling with an expired visa.
He managed to reach out to Pakistani Ambassador to Russia Qazi Khalilullah who then provided assistance to the actor in the continuation of his mission.
