ORGAN DONATION SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED
The news Kidney transplant from a deceased donor (KT, November 4) is a good sign towards humanity. But the news covered only the success of the hospital and doctors. There was no detail of the donor and his/her family. In my opinion, such a noble act should get more attention so as to motivate people for organ donation after death. Such donations can save several lives at a much lesser cost. Hospitals should also run campaigns to encourage organ transplant post death. Such efforts should be highlighted as a step towards the success of humanity. And the donor’s family should be appreciated. Donations should not be limited to food, old/new stuff and cash. Organ donation, in fact, tops any form of charity and donations. Think about it … a deceased person helps a needy human being to live life better. Shilpa Tiwari, by e-mai
