New paid-parking areas in Ajman

94 parking spaces are included by the Ajman Municipality under paid parking zones

ajman — A total of 94 parking spaces are being included by the Ajman Municipality under paid parking zones in Liwara 1 in Mohammed Salim Bu Khamees streets.

The new rules are expected to be effective from Sunday. The time slots for parking will be between 8am and 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm.

To facilitate speedy implementation of the new rules, paid parking machines have already been installed at the designated spots and will be functional from Sunday.

An official at the municipality said that the measure was adopted to reduce traffic snarls and to cut down instances where people take undue advantage of the parking slots by keeping their vehicles parked for a long period of time. He also added that there will be periodic checks by vehicle inspectors to ensure that the rules are being effectively implemented.

Any motorist wishing to make use of the paid parking will have the convenience of paying the parking fee by use of a smartphone app or by using the userfriendly street machines. The new move promises to ensure easy access to parking space for residents, visitors and shoppers.
