A PROTEST AGAINST BID TO CUT FUNDING
> Itay Zalait put up the statue of Miri Regev to protest her bid to cut state funding to artistic bodies she deems unpatriotic.
> The statue has been placed in Tel Aviv’s Habima Square and shows Regev wearing a flowing white dress and facing a mirror. > Parliament has given preliminary approval to legislation that would enable Regev’s ministry to reduce or cancel state grants. > Zalait says artists must come out of the museums.
