Sarwar denies rift with PML-Q, says ties with allies cordial
The PML-Q is an important ally of the government and its grievances will be addressed. There is no point of dispute on any issue between the two parties

lahore — Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammed Sarwar on Sunday said that there was no rift with the Pakistan Muslim LeagueQ (PML-Q), a coalition partner of the ruling PTI, and claimed he enjoyed cordial relations with PML-Q leader and Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Talking to the media after the installation of a water filtration plant at the Central Jail in Faisalabad, the Punjab governor said that the PML-Q was an important ally of the Imran Khan government and its grievances would be addressed, adding that there was no point of dispute on any issue between the two parties.
About the upcoming Senate elections on two Punjab seats, he said that Waleed Iqbal and Seemi Ezdi of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been awarded tickets and said he was confident the two would win these seats with the support of coalition partners, including the PML-Q.
Responding to a question, Sarwar said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar was — APP
the only fountainhead of power and being chief executive of the province, he was enjoying all the powers.
About the meeting between the PML-Q leaders and PTI leader Jahangir Tareen, the Punjab governor said that sometimes misunderstandings cropped up even within a family, but were easily resolved. He
added that he enjoyed decadeslong relations with the Chaudhrys.
About the 100-day performance of the Punjab government, Chaudhry Sarwar said that Rome was not built in a day, adding that a mess had been created as a result of the mismanagement of previous political regimes which could not be cleared overnight.
The Punjab governor said that accountability was vital for establishing a corruption-free society, adding that the PTI leadership, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, had presented itself for accountability.
About the private-public partnership in welfare projects, Chaudhry Sarwar said that philanthropists must come forward and play their role in such projects like installation of water filtration plants for a healthy society, adding that it was not possible for the governments to take all the financial burden. —
