Drunk woman assaulted female cops, court hears
DUBAI — A woman has been charged at the Court of First Instance with assaulting, abusing and threatening on-duty police officers and consuming alcohol without a licence.
According to public prosecution records, the 32-year-old Tajik woman was drunk when she kicked a policewoman, grabbed her hand by force and insulted her. She also threatened to slay a police lieutenant.
The woman, who was in Dubai on a visit visa, fiercely resisted the policewoman as she did not want to be handcuffed and taken inside the police station. A case was registered on September 8 at Jebel Ali police station.
A policeman said he was informed about a problem outside a residential building in Jebel Ali.

The officer told the prosecutor the woman looked drunk. “She said she wanted to go inside the building to drink liquor. I told her it is a residential building and it does not have any place that serves alcohol. She would not listen.”
The police sent a woman cop who took the accused in a patrol car. “Outside the police station, another policewoman came out and as she was about to take her into custody, the suspect started to insult her and the police officers. She also poured water on her and on a police lieutenant,” he said.
