Yemeni forces make more military gains in Hodeida

-

HODEIDA — The Yemeni forces continued to advance inside the city of Hodeida in Yemen.

Thousands of fighters laced with special weapons were dispatched to fight the militias who used innocent civilians as human shields.

Well-trained fighters were also sent to the front battle lines to fight as well as protect the newlyseized areas in the Red Sea Coast.

The Yemeni fighters were successful in countering the attempts made by Houthis to retake the areas following deaths of 140 rebels during the last 24 hours.

As part of the Hodeida operation, the Yemeni forces were keeping a close watch on militias’s movements and making advances in such a way as not to destroy the basic infrastructure in the area.

Military sources said that houses of innocent citizens, local government and public offices were destroyed by the Houthi rebels.

The rebels converted the buildings into military barracks which the sources said was as clear violation of the international laws that criminalise targeting of civilians and civil establishments during the war.

The defences of rebels collapsed after they suffered heavy causalities as Yemeni forces continued to make advances.

Mines and improvised explosive devices planted by rebels in streets houses and government institutions were destroyed by the resistance forces.

The forces continued the operation to located more mines on the city suburbs also.
