Diabetes is one of the most widespread diseases in the world. In 2017, nearly 425 million people worldwide were living with diabetes. By 2045, this number is expected to hit 629 million.

And worst of all, one in every two individuals with diabetes is undiagnosed.

However, despite being incurable, diabetes can be managed and sometimes even reversed. With proper medication, diet, exercise, health education, awareness and, most of all, support and love from one’s family, any diabetic can manage the disease and live a complete and wholesome life.

Marking World Diabetes Day 2018, Aster & Access Clinics & Pharmacies are now launching a platform — Aster Circle of Strength — which aims to provide diabetics and their families the necessary support required to manage the disease.

“At Aster, we realise the strength and confidence that the love and unity of familial relations play in managing diabetes effectively. We want to inform you that everybody can count on us, like you would count on any close family member. Aster will be the pillar of strength to families so that the family is empowered to become the pillar of strength to the diabetic,” the healthcare provider said.

On November 23, Aster and Khaleej Times will organise an awareness event in Dubai for diabetics
