Adnoc signs framework deal with Uzbek firm
abu dhabi — The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), on Tuesday signed a framework agreement with Uzbekneftegaz, a joint stock company of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas industry, under which Adnoc will provide strategic advice in relation to upstream and downstream operations.
The agreement was signed by Omar Suwaina Alsuwaidi, executive office director at Adnoc, and Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, chairman of the board, Uzbekneftegaz.
Alsuwaidi said Adnoc has a 47year successful track record of developing Abu Dhabi’s oil and gas industry and creating the greatest value from maturing and new resources. “We have built a large body of knowledge and expertise which can support Uzbekneftegaz’s growth plans, as it seeks to maximise the value of the country’s oil and gas resources.” His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) on Tuesday. Sheikh Mohammed toured the exhibition area accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and chief executive of Emirates airline and Group. This year’s edition of the event attracted 2,500 companies representing 67 countries. Dr Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and Group CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, briefed Sheikh Mohammed with event details. The 4-day exhibition concludes tomorrow.
