Chaturanga stars for Jumeirah

dubai — Janaka Chaturanga was instrument­al in giving Jumeirah Mammoths a comfortabl­e win over Shindagha Mammoths in the League of Mammoths cricket tournament.

Shindagha won the toss and received decent contributi­ons from Prashant Shetty (35), Ashish Bhandari (33) and Qais Farooq (31) in their total of 186. CTK Mashood (3-34), Shiva Pagarani (2-15) and Janaka (2-28) did well with the ball for Jumeirah. During their chase Jumeirah lost two early wickets but a partnershi­p of 119 runs between Sujit Salian and Janaka took the match away from NAS.

Sujit top scored with 65 from 47 balls (9x4) and Janaka remained unbeaten on 53 from 15 balls. He hit six sixes and three boundaries to take his team home in 22.3 overs and also walk away with the man of the match award.
