ras al khaimah — The Ministry of Infrastructure Development is all set to build three new bridges on the Ras Al Khaimah Ring Road in the first quarter of 2019.

“These are but complimentary works of the major road opened in July this year,” said Ahmad Al Hammadi, director of roads department at the ministry.

The RAK Ring Road is one of the key projects being carried out in Ras Al Khaimah, he said, adding that it is actually an extension of the Emirates Road.

The road saves drivers’ time, money and effort by giving them easy and convenient access to other major and federal roads.

The new bridges will help connect the residents of adjacent residential areas with the road, he explained. “It will also cut the time needed to reach the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Ittihad Road, as well as the Martyrs Road, previously known as Al Saedi Road.”

The road also saves time for those heading from the northern parts of the emirate to Abu Dhabi, and other cities, he underlined.

“The first bridge is being built in the Shamal area, while the second is being constructed above RAK international airport, and the third at the Fahleen area.”

It will also cut the time needed to reach the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Ittihad Road, as well as the Martyrs Road, previously known as Al Saedi Road.”
