People start using shelter homes in Peshawar, find facilities satisfacto­ry

430 People can be accommodat­ed in new shelter homes

peshawar — Homeless people and travellers have started using the shelter homes establishe­d by the PTI government under its 100day plan with an aim to facilitate marginalis­ed segments and homeless people.

In the early hours of Saturday, 40 people arrived at the Pajagi shelter home, 10 in Kohat Adda, while 15 were lodged in the shelter home near the Haji Camp bus stand where they were provided all necessary facilities and assistance.

The newly establishe­d shelter homes can accommodat­e a total of 430 people and can provide meals and other services.

Meanwhile, people have appreciate­d the PTI government for establishi­ng shelter homes.

Shafiq Gigyani, a social activist, praised the PTI leadership, especially Prime Minister Imran Khan, for his stress on serving and helping the downtrodde­n and needy.

Shafiq said the project would further boost the confidence of people in the PTI leadership.

Khan Bahadur, a resident of Takht Nusrati, Karak, expressed satisfacti­on over the arrangemen­ts made by the provincial government at shelter homes. All necessary facilities like 24-hour electricit­y, water supply and medical care are available, he added.

He said shelter home is a gift for those who were forced to spend winter nights in open due to inadequate financial resources. —
