Drive to raise Dh15M for mosques
DUBAI — A campaign to raise Dh15 million fund to build and develop mosques in underprivileged regions across the world has been initiated by the Dar Al Ber Society. The public is urged to contribute in the fundraising themed ‘House in Heaven’, according to a top official.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, executive director of Dar Al Ber, said the fund is aimed to build new mosques and maintain old ones. “New carpets, air conditioners and lights will be provided for those in need,” he said. “The walls in bad shape shall be rebuilt.”
He added that houses will be built for imams who do not have accommodation close to the mosques. “A charity outlet attached to the mosque will also be built wherever possible.”
Al Falasi said the campaign that has just started this December is to continue for over two months till February 28.
“Contributions are accepted online at Dar Al Ber web portal, smart app, or in person.”
Al Falasi said that a lot of places around the world still lack prayer rooms, while many others are in a dire need for reconstruction or development.
